Telling Her Story…Look What God’s Done!
Today I want to encourage you to take some time to just sit with the Lord as you read this post and as you worship the Lord. May this encourage and bless you beyond measure.
Some of you know a bit of our family story if you’ve read this blog for very long. I recently wrote a post and linked you to a podcast one of my daughter’s and I did, Praying Your Prodigal Home. Here is Sharing Our Prodigal’s Story, along with the podcast link, if you missed it. Today, I am going to link you to this same daughter sharing her testimony video her church showed recently. A bit of background first…
Alycia called that morning to tell me she was struggling with this “God assignment” and was’t sure how best to share her story. During the night the Lord had given her an idea that she wanted to share with her church creative director to see if he would go for it. She asked him if they could meet her at the barn and she could share her story using her horse Hondo as part of the video. The creative director was thrilled with the idea. So, I had the privilege of praying for her before she left to meet them. (A miraculous blessing in all this if you know our story!)
You see, Hondo and Alycia have a very special bond. It has taken some years of working with him for her to feel comfortable, and for both of them to trust each other. They both had fears to overcome and are part of each other’s stories.
As she was heading to the barn to meet her church staff, she texted me with this song that just “happened” to play as she was driving.
Click below for that song, Look What You’ve Done.
Perfect for her to listen to and be encouraged by, for sure! After they recorded, she texted for us to pray because they weren’t sure the audio had worked! She really did not want to do this all over again! We prayed, they found another sound card in a separate device also used and the audio was there! Whew!
So, if you are interested, here is the link to her story as she told it that day. I know you will be blessed by what she shared. We are blessed to be a part of her beautiful story of grace as we also have experienced God’s grace!
I recently finished reading Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund.
As he addressed how Jesus loves us to the end (John 13:1), he said that He was stricken by God…”So that we ugly ones could be freely beautified, pardoned, calmed. Our heaven through his hell. Our entrance into Love through his loss of it. This is what loving to the end meant. Passing through the horror of the cross and drinking down the flood of filth, the centuries of sin, all that is revolting even in our eyes.” And, for followers of Christ, this means, as the author sais: 1. “your future is secure” and 2. “he will love you to the end.”
I will add: no matter what!
In the final chapter of this book, Ortlund reminds us that Christ shows us the immeasurable riches of His grace through “unending eternal life in the new heavens” (Ephesians 2:7), and that “if his grace in kindness is ‘immeasurable,’ then our failures can never outstrip his grace.” I cannot hardly take this in! May I never get over it.
Our stories are all different, but just as powerful and miraculous as my daughter’s, no matter what your story is nor how it continues to unfold. God is still writing your story every single day, and He wants you to tell it. Boldly tell others, “Look what God has done” as you give Him the glory for it!
I will close with another amazing song by Steffany Gretzinger that will remind you how good Jesus is to us!
