Easter & Romans 8:28
As you celebrate Easter, remembering what Jesus has done for you through His crucifixion and resurrection, I just want to challenge you to consider Jesus’ obedience and the truth of His Father’s plan in light of Romans 8:28. If it’s true that….
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
…then, we know Jesus truly understands what it is to do what God asks, no matter how hard it is. He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane for a different way to accomplish our salvation, but submitted to His Father’s “no” to this request so that we might know how truly amazing is our God’s love for us.
No matter where this Easter finds you, sailing through an amazingly blessed season, or one that, though blessed, it’s really hard, you can know God loves you and is not being cruel when He disciplines you or says no to a request you have made of Him, or even is silent. Imagine the silence between Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection. What do you think His followers felt before they understood He was alive again?
I recently read and shared this truth from Paul David Tripp’s New Morning Mercies…
Peace is what we have because of Easter, and He’s still good to us today. Enjoy two of my favorite songs that remind me of this.
Worship Him today…the One who never changes, and Who holds ALL things together. My life, your life, and everything else in creation.
He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:17
