I CAN’T!

I CAN’T! How many times have you woken up in the morning and just wanted to tell God, “I just can’t”? Some days, and seasons, truly feel impossible to manage from a human standpoint. But as believers in Christ, we have access to a supernatural power that enables us to face anything the Lord allows into our lives.

This truth is beautifully captured by Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru), who said:

This resonates deeply with 1 Corinthians 15:57, which declares, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” It’s not our own strength, but Jesus’ power that allows us to keep going when we feel like we just can’t.

Share Your Story of Victory: I bet, like me, you can look back on past experiences and wonder how in the world you made it through and are still here to tell the tale. If that’s you, then I urge you: TELL IT! Share your stories of God’s faithfulness in your life. Your personal testimony can make a huge difference in someone else’s journey, offering hope and encouragement when they’re in their own “I can’t” moments.

Practical Steps for “I Can’t” Days: When you’re facing those overwhelming days, here are some practical ways to lean into God’s strength:

  • Seek His Blessings: Ask God to reveal His blessings and presence even amidst the impossible. He is always working, even when we can’t see it.
  • Stay in His Word: Immerse yourself in the Scriptures. Ask for truths that will encourage you to know Him more deeply and follow Him, no matter your circumstances.
  • Trust His Sovereignty: Anchor yourself in God’s perfect love and His ultimate control over all things, especially when you feel like you’re losing control.
  • Speak His Truth: When doubt and fear try to creep in, actively speak God’s promises and truths over your situation.
  • Deepen Your Relationship: Ask Him to show you how to know Him even more intimately as you navigate your current challenges.
  • Encourage Others: Use your journey, your “mess,” to uplift and inspire someone else walking a similar path. Your vulnerability can be their breakthrough.

Lord, may we always trust you to give us all we need to accomplish everything you ask!
